Encouraging Pivoting During Tummy Time

“6 month old is only pivoting in one direction. Is that bad?”

ANSWER- Not necessarily “bad”, especially depending on whether it’s an emerging skill or one that is mastered- BUT generally, I do like to see what’s happening on one side happen on the other too! I love to use ziploc bags with sensory things like rice or even hair gel in them for encouraging pivoting belly down!

I fill the bag about ⅔ of the way full and then tape it ot the carpet on all sides in a clock motion as if your child is the clock hands, picture taping the bags at like 11 & 2 on the non preferred side to start.

Hope this helps!
