How To Talk To Your Daycare About Baby Containers

How do you suggest talking to our daycare about how much they are putting baby in containers?

ANSWER- Ah, I KNOW this can feel like such a tough conversation, but I truly think just being open and upfront with them is the best way! Asking BEFORE your child starts would be ideal to get a feeling on how often they use them, how they supplement with floor time, etc. If that didn’t happen and now you have any sort of concern, I think it is absolutely okay (and ideal) to have those lines of communication open with them. It may also be helpful to be specific with what you’d like to see change.

For example, if they are using a jumper and you’d rather they didn’t, it might be helpful to say “I know you have to use containers at some points in the day, but would it be possible to use the exersaucer instead of the jumper for my child.” Being honest and keeping those communication lines open, while also offering a possible alternative regarding what you’d like to see change - can be SO helpful!
