Let’s Talk Heavy Work!

“Why is heavy work beneficial from a sensory perspective?”

ANSWER- Love this question! I usually find explaining why heavy work can be so beneficial is thinking about the overarching thing most heavy work activities do - which is provide an increase in proprioceptive input to the joints which have lotsssssss of really important receptors in them that give us all types of important input. Mostly notably, heavy work activities often create a calming/regulating effect, improves body awareness & understanding how your body interacts with the world, and can even improve focus & attention!

Here is a reel that shows a couple of my favorite heavy work activities!

Hope this helps!
