“What made you decide to become a pediatric PT?”

Answer: Honestly, I kind of think it’s in my blood, lol! My mom has been a pediatric PT for over 30 years and owned her own agency in Early Intervention along with a Speech Pathologist and Special Instructor. For as long as I can remember, I went to patients with her, watched her treat, took it all in, and kind of just knew that I wanted to work with kids. What better way than to follow in her footsteps?!

In my first semester of college, I experimented with some early childhood education classes and quickly realized physical therapy was definitely what I wanted to do, so I switched over to that and never looked back! I became a pediatric physical therapist assistant first and worked at an amazing facility for 6 years with children and young adults with varying diagnoses while I went through the doctorate program on the weekends.

It was the BEST decision I ever made, and the knowledge I gained working in the field while also in the DPT program was just absolutely incredible. I’m so thankful for everything that led me on this path, and I am so glad y’all are here for the ride with me now!
