How Do I Teach My Baby To Go Down The Stairs?

"My baby only wants to crawl UP stairs, how do I teach going down?"

Answer: So this one is such a common question and is honestly very family/situation dependent. I'll link a reel at the end of this post with two methods that I personally like. Just know that what works best for your family and is the safest might be different, and that's totally okay!

When it comes to stair skills for me, my top priority is safety, the rest will come! That being said, with my kids, I teach them to crawl back down backward, or even slide on their belly. This can be a little tough with wood stairs, but truly, in my mind, it feels like the safest for our staircase!

Some people prefer teaching the scoot down on their bottom, and that's okay too!

This video covers both, so take a look!

Hope that helps!
